Dan has been owner, officer or management in Paramount Pools, Long Island Hot Tubs, Unique Contracting, Patriot Pool and Spa Service, Virtual Pool and Spa Store, Las Vegas Hot Tubs and finally Poolandspa.com.  His companies  have won almost every industry award available and have been included in  countless magazine articles, books and TV shows about e-commerce, web marketing  and SEO (search engine optimization) strategies.  He is one of the few in his industry who have ever been inducted into the Aqua "Hall of Fame" (like the Baseball "Hall of Fame", only for the pool & spa biz).

After HS went on to Suny Stony Brook where I received BS in computer science. 

After college I worked for Fire Research Corp in Nesconset doing computer programming.  Next I moved on to Reuters also doing programming in Farmingdale and then in Hauppauge.  My wife and I bought a house in Nesconset.  Then we had one son.

While working for Reuters I decided to take a post in Stamford, CT so we moved to Bethel, CT.  Shortly after moving Reuters announced that they were closing the technical software development center in Stamford so I was out of work.  Shortly after Stamford closed, Reuters also laid off all programmers in Hauppauge.

I had a long vacation > 12 months looking for a job.  Many of my friends were also out of work.  The job market was terrible.

I now work for a hedge fund in Greeenwich CT.  Great job but long hours and long commute.

Hello dear friends and classmates,

It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since our last reunion. It seems like only a few and even those flew by with lightening speed. If you have found the secret to slowing life down just a bit, please let me know. 

I moved to Durham, NC in 2000 after having a benign brain tumor removed - that was a huge surprise and a rather interesting experience. I wouldn't recommend it, but it definitely helps put a lot of things into perspective. I used to live for work and now work just enough to live comfortably. It's a joy to discover so many other interests. 

Five years ago, I renovated a 75-year old house with my very handy sweetheart and exorcised 15 years of repressed Martha Stewart tendencies in the process. I volunteer for literacy and brain-related causes and am very involved in my neighborhood. Some things never change! Steve and I also have a growing interest in documentary short films which keeps us very busy. 

Steve is a technology whiz and one of the nicest human beings on earth. It took me long enough to find him, but he is the perfect partner. He also brings two grown children to the relationship, including a daughter who graduated from college in Colorado a few years ago and then moved back to Durham. Lindsay is a sweetheart and we are really thrilled to have her so close. 

My parents retired to North Carolina in 1999 and live in New Bern, about 2.5 hours east. We celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year. They are both enjoying retirement with lots of other NY/NJ/PA/CT transplants in New Bern.

It will be great to see you in August 2008 at the 30th Reunion. Spread the word! There were over 550 of us in the Class of '78. It would be great if we could get half the class together again.

wow..from Brentwood, New York moved to Hauppauge -New York-( 6 miles from Brentwood-) went to Forestry School in upstate NY- Syracuse, moved back to Long Island, worked for the Town of Babylon as their urban forester,got married, moved to St. Louis, MO for 1 year, moved to Atlanta, GA - lived their for 7 years, moved to Los Angeles , CA- got divorced...he left the state, I stayed, have lived here since 1993. No longer in the forestry profession - complete change - Insurance. Actually live in a town called Brentwood...how weird is that?.....start out in a town called Brentwood and then end up in a town called Brentwood. Live 4 miles from the beach and on any sunny weekend day that's where I will be. Absolutely love CA - beaches, desert, mountains, great and amazing vineyards all within a 3 hour drive...Would love to hear from any old stumpies!!!

It's been 3 months since the reunion has pasted and I look at this website, and more of you should add your profile. It is so interesting to learn on how we all turned out. I had a great time and the way it looked a lot of you there had a great time too. So spend a few minutes and say somthing!
                                                                        It  is amazing that 30 years have passed. I moved to San Diego in 1980. I finished my Degree  in Business Mgt. at San Diego State University and was a Senior Purchasing Agent for 18 years. Got married later in life and my kids are young, 6 and 10. Got into being a daycare provider so I could be with my kids more and I love it. I live about 40 miles north of downtown SanDiego in a town called Oceanside. I love the beach. You can go to the desert, mountains and snow and it is all so close. My husband is  a native SanDiegian, and I will probably never move. I never liked the cold. I miss my family a lot. I try not to let more then 2 years go by without going back. I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. I only went to the 10th so far. Will try not to miss any more.

I have been living in Tokyo, Japan since July 2006, serving as the Air Attache at the US Embassy.  I'm a Colonel in the USAF, with about 26 years of service.  Jeannette and I were married in July 1990 and we have three lovely daughters, Cassidy (13), Regan (12) and Cameron (3).  We expect to return to our home in Fairfax County, VA during the summer of 2010.  

Just left from Tokyo today and see you all there next week at the Reunion.!

Hi Everybody! I've been living in Connecticut for the past 22 years (except for 1 year in California) where I have been teaching Spanish. I love teaching and have a lot of fun doing it. We got married the November after graduation. So… this November we will be celebrating our 30^th anniversary!!.. so hard to believe!  We have three daughters and one son.  The girls are all married and our third grandchild is due in February.  Our son, the youngest, Robert Jr, is a junior at SUNY Albany.

We moved out to East Hampton 21 years ago after 5 years of commuting for Bob.  He is a construction manager for a local builder out there.  After raising our kids, including home schooling for 13 years, Debbie works for a Land Surveyor : her first ever full time job.

About 8 years we began working with Marriage Encounter, a weekend conference for couples.  We travel 4-5 times a year to help with these weekends and share our story with other married couples.  It has been such a great experience for us.

It’s hard to believe this life we have had together all started around the Hauppauge High School pool and Mr. Weisman’s eighth period class, “Modern Film and Drama”. Who would have known it would stick for so long! We are finally to the empty nest stage and thoroughly enjoying it.

 

Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday.

I still live on Long Island in Brookhaven, Hamlet, am married to Harry Mosoff and have two step children, Julianne 21 and Eric 18.

I work for The Estee Lauder Companies based in NYC, in Human Resources dealing with Global Compensation, Benefits and HR Information Systems (a Certified Public Accountant working in HR...right...how did that happen?).

Love Brookhaven Hamlet - it is a great place to live - it is still pretty rural and unique. 

Estee Lauder is an interesting and challenging place to work (makes great products!).  Lots of travel. 

Kids are doing well - Julianne is going into to her senior year at NYU, Eric is graduating from high school.

Hope all is well with everyone.  Sorry to have missed the reunion last year.

I met the love of my life in 1979, we moved in together in 1980 and have been happily married since 1984.

We have lived in Manhattan, Florida, Pennsylvania and now in Islip.

I work as a bookkeeper and have been
with the same company for the last ten years.

We love to travel, we like to go to art shows and Broadway.  We live every moment to the fullest!  Life is good!
