Hi, Everybody!

It's so neat to see the profiles already up.  I am looking forward to seeing more.

I went to West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV and as I fell in love with this wonderful place, I moved here for keeps in January 1985.  I met and married my hubby Rick in 1989 and we have 3 sons; Andrew, 17; Patrick, 15; and Christian, 12.  I got my masters in School Counseling and work in the local school system as a middle school counselor, after 19 years in elementary school.  The kids seem so tall after all the munchkins!

We keep busy with school, band and church as well as various family activities,  We also keep up with the political scene, as my husband is a circuit court judge for our area.  I have learned how to stump the campaign trail, and in 2008, will be on the rubber chicken circuit as Rick will be running for his 2nd 8 year term.

It's hard to believe that we are looking at 30 years out of high school!  I am too lazy to scan a recent photo  right now, but maybe later I'll be brave and do that.

Best regards to all.

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the reunion.  It's the beginning of school here, as well as my oldest son's birthday, so you parents and school employees know how that is.  To add to the excitement,  my husband surprised me with a toy poodle puppy, and my co -counselor surprisede me by taking a job at our high school, so I am in the midst of training a dog and a new counselor.  I don't think I will have to worry about the counselor peeing on the floor like the puppy does right now.

Have fun!

Hi Everyone,

It can't be 30 years, we're all too young! It seems to have gone by so fast.

I have been happily married for 22 years (23 in February) to a beautiful woman named Julie. I have two great kids, Ryan who will be 16 in October and Kyle who is 13. Ryan is very into music and at 15+ has already been to more concerts than I have at 46. I did have the pleasure of taking him to a Springsteen concert and both he and Kyle to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert! (Kyle constantly reminds me that I owe him a Springsteen concert). Kyle has told me he would like to be a lawyer and he is such a stickler for the rules that I think that is his calling. We have lived in Dix Hills for the past 12 years.

I have been employed at OpHedge Investment Services LLC as their controller for the past 2 1/2 years. Prior to that I was at Soros Fund Management for 15 years. It wasn't as big leap as you may think after 15 years, as Soros is a majority equity partner in OpHedge.

I had a bit of a pre-midlife crisis at the age of 35. My knees were bothering me from playing softball so I decided to take up ice hockey instead! I have been playing once a week, year round, ever since. I have a blast every time I step on the ice!

Hope to see you all at the reunion and/or picnic.

Hi Everyone
It's really hard to believe its been 30 years.  I was back at HHS recently for a boy scout training course (my son's the scout not me, but single mom's ... at least it beat the parent required boys maturity night...).  Actually always wanted to be a girl scout myself but dad always told me that with our trips to our property upstate, there would be nothing about camping that my sisters and I would have left to learn~after my first trip with the cub scouts found he was right!
Anyway, all my family has moved to various locations, give or take a 5 hour car ride. Although I have moved several times, it's all been pretty local.  My son, Chris, is about to turn 15 and boy do I begin to sound like my parents!
I currently work in the home office of an international REIT in New Hyde Park and usually end up cooking for my son and a crowd of his friends on the off times.
I didn't think I was going to be able to make the reunion, but due to a change in plans...looking forward to seeing you there!

I have lived in White Plains, NY since 1995 (after moving around Forest Hills, Queens and Manhattan after college and  a brief marriage and divorce).  I met my husband David on Fire Island  in '89 and we have been blissfully married for nearly 19 years.  We have three  daughters, Jamie (15), Samara (12) & Ilana (9).   Even the cat is a girl in our household!  (David always wanted a lot of girls, be careful what you wish for, I say!)   After graduating from SUNY Albany in '82, I had a 10 year career in cosmetics and gift marketing in NY (Estee Lauder and Avon). After my first daughter was born in '93, I became a stay at home mom, doing a lot of community/school volunteering on the side ( I wasn't busy enough with three small children!).  In 2003 I became licensed in real estate sales and am now an Associate Broker with Prudential Rand Realty in White Plains.  David has been a stock broker/portfolio manager for over 25 years. After working for several major Wall Street firms, he opened his own Registered Investment Advisory, Geller Capital Management, in 2000.  We both work locally and enjoy the freedom that gives us to spend a lot of time with our girls.

I will see you at the reunion and catch up with everyone!

Best to all,
Rachel

Favorite Job: Mom to Samantha Grace, 8 years old. Photo is from her dance recital. She does NOT normally wear so much make up. Actually she doesn't normally wear any make up! Job to support Favorite Job: Creative Director: Williamhouse Division of National Envelope. We are the first step in the creation of Wedding Invitations, Bar/Bat Mitzvah Invitations, Birth Announcements, Holiday Cards etc., before they get to the retailer who you, the consumer, would purchase from. Best part of the job: the company moved to Dallas and I've been working from home for 10 years, which allows me to actually see my kid grow up. Second Job: The House. I have a love/hate relationship with this job. I hate all the work but I love the results. I am now a carpenter, mason, plumber, painter, landscaper, interior, exterior, and garden designer. Still waiting for This Old House or Extreme Home Makeover to hire me! Hoping for a big turn out for our 30th reunion.

From Tom:

The past 30 years have been more that I could have ever asked for. I got married in ’86, started a family in ’87, and moved to sunny Florida in ’88. Our oldest son is currently a freshman at The University of Central Florida. Next in line we have three daughters, one in high school, one in middle school, and one in elementary school. My parents live in Ocala Florida, which is less than a two-hour drive from where we live in Palm Coast. This year they will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We are planning to make a family reunion out of it.

I am currently employed as the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Flagler Beach. Most of my summers are spent on the beach training and supervising our ocean lifeguards. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it!! What can be more fun than hanging out on the beach acting like David Hasselhoff?

Due to our hectic family schedule during the school year and my busy summers on the beach, we really had not had many opportunities travel back to visit Long Island. We love Florida but miss New York. Every once in a while I will run into somebody from Hauppauge and have a chance to reminisce a bit. If you are ever passing through Flagler Beach, stop by and say hello. Hopefully this will be the year that I make it to the reunion.

Best regards,

Tom Gillin

I just got a call today 8/5/08 about the reunion. Wow. I read some of the profiles on the web site. Brought back alot of memories. I will be scrambling to make it to the reunion. The problem is, it is right during the set-up time between races. I race motorcycles. sorta semi-pro for fun. I am a therapist in private practice with my wife to pay for racing.
I live in Georgia with my wife. I currently race motorcycles(road racing-senior superbike). After high school I was in the Air Force for 4 years. Then completed coll. and have been a therapist ever since. I feel compelled to make the reunion and will do my best. Race set-up is going to be tough for the next few races and time is a premium. Hope to see old friends.
