Birthday: December 29, 1960
City: Old Saybrook State/Prov.: CT Occupation: Attorney Website: www.durantnic.com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Loraine: What an excellent website this is. Thanks to Kathy (Dallow) Van Dyke and Paul Borowski for putting all of it together. Sadly, I lost my brother Rocco (HHS class of 1974) just last month; reading these profiles, making contact with some of our former classmates and looking forward to the reunion has been a true Godsend. I'm married to my best friend Joe and we have two girls, 11 and 15, who truly make life worth living even though we are constantly embarrassing them (sound familiar?). I'm currently an attorney living and working in Connecticut (working in Bridgeport; living in Old Saybrook). I specialize in employment and labor law representing management so I do a fair amount of union negotiations as well as trial work. My husband is in the same field but not an attorney although, after all these years, he now argues like one. We love to travel, we love NYC where we lived and worked after we were first married and we love the JETS. Well, enough about me. For those of you who have asked about my brother Mike (HHS Class of 1977), he retired from the NYPD soon after 9/11 (he was very involved with the aftermath), now works on L.I. and lives in Mt. Sinai with his wife, son Michael Jr. and stepdaughter. He's well but misses his best friend and brother. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd. Loraine |

City: Smithtown
State/Prov.: NY Occupation: Social Worker, L.M.S.W. Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 1 From Michele: Hi everyone. I can't believe it is 30 years already! Time is moving so quickly. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion picnic. I am married 22 years to my husband, John, and reside in Smithtown. We have a 19 year old son, Travis, who just completed his first year of college at Quinnipiac University in CT. While Travis was away at college, John and I had the opportunity to travel and explore a variety of our National Parks. We engaged in a number of outdoor activities, having a really great time. It is now coming back to that time, however, to focus on work, schedules, household chores, family, etc. and the summer reunion. Have a good summer and see you at the reunion. Michele |

City: Hauppauge
State/Prov.: NY Occupation: Director of Administration Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Karen : Dear Friends and Classmates: It seems like only yesteday we were preparing for our graduation and looking ahead to our futures. It's hard to believe it's been 30 years since we graduated! I moved to Queens after high shool and lived there for about 20 years. I met my husband, Brian 11 years ago. We have been married for almost 10 years. Three years ago, we adopted two children (sisters) from Birobidjan, Russia. They were 6 and 8 years old and didn't speak a word of English. Since then, they have picked up the language quickly and we can't get them to stop talking. They are totally Americanized now. The first year our oldest daughter played soccer, she was coached by our very own Lenny Elkins and had the best time. Currently, I am the Director of Administration for a major law firm in Mid-town Manhattan. I commute daily and just love the LIRR :-) Looking forward to seeing everyone in August and catching up further. Karen |

Birthday: November 09, 1960
City: Albuquerque State/Prov.: New Mexico Occupation: Systems Analyst From Karen: I kept wondering what I was going to write and now that I am - I’m still wondering, so here goes…
I've been working in the computer field since I was 19. I took a break from that after getting a degree in paralegal studies, worked as a contract administrator for a year or two and then went back to what I knew best. Oh well, it was a good experience to try something new and having knowledge of the legal world is never a bad thing!
I left NY in '99 and lived in California, New Mexico, Florida, Arizona, back to New Mexico, back to New York, and then (lastly?) back to New Mexico again. When I started shopping for a house the folks out here finally believed that I was here to stay. I'd like to think that this is permanent but having said those words before... So, I’m living here in Albuquerque - no husband, no kids, but I do have a cat who is sometimes too needy and often behaves like a toddler!
I look forward to seeing all of you and hopefully remembering more people than I do when I read through these profiles. I hope that it's not a sign of senility :o) |
