From Loraine:
What an excellent website this is.  Thanks to Kathy (Dallow) Van Dyke and Paul Borowski for putting all of it together.  Sadly, I lost my brother Rocco (HHS class of 1974) just last month; reading these profiles, making contact with some of our former classmates and looking forward to the reunion has been a true Godsend.  I'm married to my best friend Joe and we have two girls, 11 and 15, who truly make life worth living even though we are constantly embarrassing them (sound familiar?).  I'm currently an attorney living and working in Connecticut (working in Bridgeport; living in Old Saybrook).  I specialize in employment and labor law representing management so I do a fair amount of union negotiations as well as trial work.  My husband is in the same field but not an attorney although, after all these years, he now argues like one.  We love to travel, we love NYC where we lived and worked after we were first married and we love the JETS.  Well, enough about me.  For those of you who have asked about my brother Mike (HHS Class of 1977), he retired from the NYPD soon after 9/11 (he was very involved with the aftermath), now works on L.I. and lives in Mt. Sinai with his wife, son Michael Jr. and stepdaughter.  He's well but misses his best friend and brother.  Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd.  Loraine

We spent 19 years in Los Angeles California, sold our house and moved to Mobile, Alabama on the Gulf Coast.  Janice and I have been together for 17 years but married for only 12.  We have one 14 yr old son named Donte.  Life seems to slip away much too fast to remember...Hmmmm maybe I should open up the yearbook and look it over?  I loved the past two reunions and we plan to attend this one in August...Can't wait a day longer to see and talk with everyone..

Hi everyone. I can't believe it is 30 years already! Time is moving so quickly. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion picnic.

I am married 22 years to my husband, John, and reside in Smithtown. We have a 19 year old son, Travis, who just completed his first year of college at Quinnipiac University in CT. While Travis was away at college, John and I had the opportunity to travel and explore a variety of our National Parks. We engaged in a number of outdoor activities, having a really great time. It is now coming back to that time, however, to focus on work, schedules, household chores, family, etc. and the summer reunion.

Have a good summer and see you at the reunion.

Michele

Dear Friends and Classmates:

It seems like only yesteday we were preparing for our graduation and looking ahead to our futures. It's hard to believe it's been 30 years since we graduated!

I moved to Queens after high shool and lived there for about 20 years.  I met my husband, Brian 11 years ago. We have been married for almost 10 years.  Three years ago, we adopted two children (sisters) from Birobidjan, Russia.  They were 6 and 8 years old and didn't speak a word of English.  Since then, they have picked up the language quickly and we can't get them to stop talking. They are totally Americanized now.  The first year our oldest daughter played soccer, she was coached by our very own Lenny Elkins and had the best time.

Currently, I am the Director of Administration for a major law firm in Mid-town Manhattan.  I commute daily and just love the LIRR :-)

Looking forward to seeing everyone in August and catching up further.

Karen

I cannot believe 30 years have gone by!
I've been married for 26+ years and have 2 children. Missy is 22, Pete is 21. Both are in their senior year at Hofstra Univ. Missy is a singer/actress while Pete studies business.
My husband Jimmy and I have lived in Smithtown since we married and both children attended Hauppauge schools.  It was a great time for them..in fact they had many of the same teachers I had as a kid. Of course they had Jeff Parrett and loved him too.
I'm looking forward to catching up with so many.
Regards, Nana

I live back in Hauppauge, and  I'm married with an amazing wife of eighteen years. We have two great daughters,  Brooke 10 and Nicole, 12 years old (both play travel soccer for Hauppauge).

I still play basketball in a league with a couple of Hauppauge boys {aka Wayne Dutton and others}

I retired from football after playing semi pro for the Long Island Raiders in the mid east football conference in 1984. I tried out for USFL for the  Philadelphia Stars and S.A. Gunslingers. Didn't make it, packed it in.

Opened up Karts Indoor Raceway in 2006 in Ronkonkoma. Future Karts in Farmingdale is next. Also own a Mr. Softee franchise.

Life is great, thanks to my wife and kids.

See you at the reunion.

From Karen:
I kept wondering what I was going to write and now that I am - I’m still wondering, so here goes…

I've been working in the computer field since I was 19.  I took a break from that after getting a degree in paralegal studies, worked as a contract administrator for a year or two and then went back to what I knew best.  Oh well, it was a good experience to try something new and having knowledge of the legal world is never a bad thing!

I left NY in '99 and lived in
California, New Mexico, Florida, Arizona, back to New Mexico, back to New York, and then (lastly?) back to New Mexico again.  When I started shopping for a house the folks out here finally believed that I was here to stay.  I'd like to think that this is permanent but having said those words before...

So, I’m living here in Albuquerque - no husband, no kids, but I do have a cat who is sometimes too needy and often behaves like a toddler!

I look forward to seeing all of you and hopefully remembering more people than I do when I read through these profiles.  I hope that it's not a sign of senility :o)
